“ a new season, a new website ”

Well the time is nearly here, the 2023/2024 Victorian Trout Season kicks off next Saturday the 2nd of September. Going on what I’m hearing from a lot of other Victorian trout Fly Fisho’s, everyones a bit excited and can’t wait (just like me) to get back out on a flowing bit of water chasing those brown and gold bars or silver and pink bullets.

For me, this season is shaping up to be a bit of a different one as I’ve decided to up my game and coincide it with the launch of my new website, www.bawbawflyfisher.com. As people know I’ve been selling flies for some time via custom order through my Instagram page and stock flies more recently through Beastbrushes.com. During this time I’ve always thought about creating a website where I can keep stock at all times so you can just jump on and purchase what is available right there and then. I think that’s just handy! I’ll still be doing custom orders if there’s something you’re after that’s not on the website or you’re after a specific set of flies, all you have to do is get in touch and we’ll get it sorted like old times!

The range of flies will be constantly getting updated with new patterns being added regularly, and restocks of the current patterns already available.

You will also see I’m now offering a guiding service. This is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time, and after sharing my ideas with some close fly fishing friends, taking people out over the years to share my passion of fly fishing which I always enjoyed, I decided now was the time to go forth and take the next step.

I’ve spent a lot of time out in the bush chasing blue lines across the Gippsland area, discovering some pretty much untouched water that I’m super keen to share with the fly fishing community, whether they’re brand new to this beautiful sport or have been throwing the fur and feather for years.

I’m going to leave this cheeky little blog at that for now, but stay tuned to the website as I’ll be regularly updating the stories/blog/digital chin wag (whatever you want to call it) with all that’s been happening in the world of Baw Baw Fly Fisher.
